ECIC supports a broad-based advisory committee on the issues of family supports or basic needs. The goal of the Family Support Committee is to provide advice that will inform ECIC’s work to:
- Support the local Great Start System infrastructure
- Advance the Great Start System results: Families of infants and young children are economically stable; and infants and young children live in safe families
- Increase knowledge regarding evidence-based practices
- Development recommendations for innovative early childhood policy
- Provide education to the public to increase public understanding
- Increase public and private investment
The committee is not currently convening.
Committee Objectives:
- Members represent the diversity of Michigan’s population
- Members have a shared understanding of the contributions each makes to the success of the Family Support component of the early childhood system
- Members engage in generative dialogue that informs the respective work of membership
- Members choose to collaborate on projects of shared concern.
- Members plan and host an annual convening
- Members oversee preparation of at least one written report from to educate state-wide.
