Performance Standards for the Great start collaboratives

The Children's Action Network (CAN) is preparing recommendations for the Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) on the following topics:

• Great Start Collaborative readiness and selection
• Evaluation of the Great Start System
• Performance Standards for the Great Start Collaboratives
• Training and technical assistance for Great Start Collaboratives

The Great Start Collaboratives will be the local decision-making body that will drive the Great Start system in each community. The Performance Standards for the Great Start Collaboratives are based on current research, national best practices, Michigan data, and provider, consumer, and advocate input. The Children's Action Network is highly interested in community perspectives as it forms its recommendations. Interested communities are invited to submit their written comments by July 22, 2005.

Final recommendations will be made to the ECIC in August 2005.
