community Conversation: Great Start Collaboratives
This conversation is closed.
The Children's Action Network (CAN) is preparing recommendations
for the Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) on the following
topics:
- Great Start Collaborative readiness and selection
- Evaluation of the Great Start System
- Performance standards for the Great Start System
- Training and technical assistance for Great
Start Collaboratives
For background information on the Great Start System,
including ECIC and the Great Start Collaboratives, go to
Great Start System.
The Children's Action Network is highly interested
in community perspectives as it forms its recommendations. Interested
communities are invited to address the following questions and submit
their written responses by June 24, 2005.
It has been said that to bring children to kindergarten
ready to succeed it takes...ready children, ready parents, ready
schools, and ready communities.
- What demonstrates that a community is ready to become a Great
Start Collaborative?
- What documentation would show that a community has successfully
implemented collaborative initiatives for chidren and families?
- What should the selection criteria be for the Phase I Great
Start Collaboratives?
- Other thoughts about the Great Start Collaborative application
or selection criteria or process?
Please send your written responses by June
24, 2005, to Joan Blough via e-mail to bloughj@michigan.gov
or info@greatstartforkids.org.
